Zia Meaning

The Zia are indigenous people, known for their distinctive sun symbol. The Zia symbol consists of a circle with various rays pointing in different directions. Four is a sacred number of the Zia culture. It is associated with the four cardinal directions, four seasons of weather, four stages of life, and four periods of each day. The Zia also believe that the development of a clear mind, strong body, pure spirit, and devotion to family are the most important sacred obligations that each individual must honor.
